SOUTHERN HEIRLOOM GARDEN
The grounds are filled with plants collected by six generations
of the Kirk family including big leaf magnolia, gingers, camellias,
roses, sweet olive, banana shrub, black locust, golden rain tree,
mock orange, mountain laurel, angel trumpet, paw paw, saw palmetto,
fringe tree, native azaleas, and phlox to name a few.
MAGNIFICENT LIVE OAK TREES
The house and gardens are surrounded by these beautiful trees native
to coastal regions. Their cooling canopy forms a vaulted ceiling
for all outdoor and indoor functions.

251/675-4605 to arrange tours of the gardens, home, and studio which
include a catered lunch.
A visit to KIRK HOUSE & GARDENS is ideal for garden
clubs, church groups, travel clubs, seniors, horticultural organizations,
and other types of outings. Bus parking is conveniently located
near the gardens and meals for motor coach drivers are free. The
gardens are in bloom year round with mid March through early June
and mid September through November ideal from the standpoint of
temperature and beauty.
